All Hallow's Eve.... 2009

This year for Halloween, Kaed was BumbleBee (from Transformers) and Dash was Yoda (from StarWars) - or YoDash as I like to call him. Good costumes this year!

We also did a bit o' Jack-o-lantern carving as well. Kaed gave me a picture of how he wanted his to look and I carved it for him. He did get to scoop out the guts of the pumkins though - and he loved it. Dash was sick when we did this so his punkin reflected it. It's too bad we get like 3 trick-or-treaters because our carvings are nice.

Yet another sign that Dash is Andy's kid... He picks his fingernails. Constantly. In my life, I can honestly say I've NEVER done 2 things that you may find odd - especially at age 32: I've never ironed a shirt/pant, and I've never once used fingernail clippers (for my fingers anyway). I've always picked my fingernails off as long as I can remember. Not chew though - that'd be gross. Gramma Gloria and Mom can vouch. I still do it. Some of you may find this to be a little gross or annoying, but for me it's quite convenient. Don't worry, I throw them away. There are few things worse than stepping on a finger/toe nail! Awck! (I just gagged) At least I'm responsible about it. And now Dash does it. I don't necessarily like the fact he is doing this, but I can't exactly be bummed about it either.

Quick, what's the best Halloween candy? Answer: anything that is regular or Super size! "Fun" size is neither fun nor is it NOT a complete rip-off. Discuss.... (if you just docked me points because I used a double-negative then you're a nerd Dad and you need to let it go) And it's too bad we live in a day where home-made carmel'd apples and popcorn balls have to get tossed. I always like those.

Now, what is the WORST Halloween candy? For me it's a cold BigHunk bar. The worst. Not because of it's taste, but because it's nearly impossible to eat when it's cold! It's to the point now where if I see a BigHunk (anywhere) I get enraged. You'd think I'd love them since they named it after me . . . At least a Bit-o-Honey are bite size so you can suck on them for a minute.

I confess, I have an unhealthy addiction . . . to McDonald's french fries. I need help. Seriously. It hasn't affected my weight (yet) but I fear what my BP might be. I'm lovin' it - a little too much.

Speaking of nerds, this is my costume this year. Can you guess what I am? . . . That's right, I'm a Binomial Product! Or a Factored Trinomial - whatever you prefer. I just walk around saying, "Hi, I'm Bi." Got some funny looks... Thanks again for the shirt, whichever brother got it for me! (click on the picture to see it's details)

See you guys later. I'm off to hunt for a #2 (that's code for a QP with C meal at the golden arches).

The Force is strong with this one.
Coolest straw ever. The boys were dying with laughter! Me too...

B.D.

Today I subbed for a teacher today (for one class period) and it was a Behavior Disorder class. Rough class dynamics, all seemed to have ADHD, were extremely immature, were underclassmen, and the littlest things would set them off. In a 50 minute class period many things happened (some of which I cannot type on this "family" oriented blog). First thing when I walked in a kid says, "Oh my GOSH! It's Dane Cook!" and I was 'Dane' for the rest of the period. There was also a kid with a black leather Guns & Roses biker jacket - it was totally awesome - circa Appetite for Destruction.
If children are our future, we're in big trouble...

New Stuff

I've done some things in the last few months that I never have done before. Some I'll even mention here! New things can be fun, and a little scary. Here are just a few:
1. Paid admission to watch a KHS football game.
2. Saw a Homecoming half-time show
3. Own a gun - very fun by the way. Should have gotten one a long time ago.
4. Paid for a haircut.
5. Took Dash bowling (see below)

Those are the highlights. There's been some new crummy things too, but who wants to hear about those?

Getting old...

How come everytime I throw out a movie quote from Wayne's World, or Billy Madison, or What About Bob, or Goonies in any of my classes NO ONE responds or gets it?
Testing....testing
Is this thing on?

Phinally, some fotos!

I recently went wakeboarding with some friends (thanks Medina's!) and got a bunch of cool pictures from those outings (thanks Aaron and Lachelle!). I share, with you...

Ever wonder what it looks like when do don't quite pull off a backflip (all day long)? Now you do.
Dash is hilarious about water. He loves being in it, but hates getting into it. Notice how his hair is dry?
This is Dash and Christy doing their best Jack and Rose (Titanic) impression.("It feels like I'm flying!") Then he had to pee. (To a man, the world is his outhouse.)

If you were in gradeschool, and you knew you were getting your picture taken, and your little brother was sitting in front of you, what would you do??? . . . BUNNY EARS!
